The awning window is the outswing sister of a tilt window, and is often used in conjunction with casement windows. The window is hinged at the top and pushes outward from the bottom.
Awning windows can be made larger than casement windows but cannot provide egress.
The thermal performance of your building’s walls is only as strong as the weakest link, and windows are too often that weak link.
